Every year I write a long Christmas newsletter and mail it to all my friends and relatives. This year is my first blog newsletter. I hope you enjoy reading it. Year 2008 I can’t believe the year is almost up. I still have to remind myself to write 2008 not 2007 on my checks. What a year of change it has been. At the beginning of the year, I was working full time at the Africa Harvest Mission office as bookkeeper. The office (because of financial pressures) had to close and was moved to the director’s home where she runs it. It has since prospered and we have made great strides in evangelizing Africa and providing for the needs of its people. Every 4 years we elect a President. This is a pivotal year for us in that our economy is sluggish and all the blame is falling on the current administration. If the truth were known it is a combination of this administration, the previous Clinton administration, and world economic factors. The point is there is no one person to blame. The blame needs to fall on all of us. We have become a nation of greed and self satisfaction. If you look through history almost all major civilizations lasted only about 200 years and then they disintegrated internally because of greed until they were destroyed. We are at that point! If we do not find something more to believe in than what we see with our eyes and what we feel with our hands we will go the way of all previous civilizations into dust and obscurity. I never have had a problem in deciding which candidate to vote for because I have found something bigger to believe in. I always vote for Life. You see all the other issues: economy, guns...
