Every year I write a long Christmas newsletter and mail it to all my friends and relatives. This year is my first blog newsletter. I hope you enjoy reading it. Year 2008 I can’t believe the year is almost up. I still have to remind myself to write 2008 not 2007 on my checks. What a year of change it has been. At the beginning of the year, I was working full time at the Africa Harvest Mission office as bookkeeper. The office (because of financial pressures) had to close and was moved to the director’s home where she runs it. It has since prospered and we have made great strides in evangelizing Africa and providing for the needs of its people. For more information on AHM you can go to the website www.africaharvestmissions.com . At the same time, I was also doing the books for another non-profit called ‘Friends of TOUCH’ which also moved and is now using one of the offices at my church. FOT helps the orphans of Uganda and their web site is www.friendsoftouch.org . They are doing ...

Every 4 years we elect a President. This is a pivotal year for us in that our economy is sluggish and all the blame is falling on the current administration. If the truth were known it is a combination of this administration, the previous Clinton administration, and world economic factors. The point is there is no one person to blame. The blame needs to fall on all of us. We have become a nation of greed and self satisfaction. If you look through history almost all major civilizations lasted only about 200 years and then they disintegrated internally because of greed until they were destroyed. We are at that point! If we do not find something more to believe in than what we see with our eyes and what we feel with our hands we will go the way of all previous civilizations into dust and obscurity. I never have had a problem in deciding which candidate to vote for because I have found something bigger to believe in. I always vote for Life. You see all the other issues: economy, guns...

It is my goal to walk on every continent before I leave this planet. Yes, that includes Antarctica. Of course I have had plenty of experience marching around North America. I have set foot in almost every state in the US including Alaska and Hawaii (one place I fully intend to revisit). I have also been to Central America (not technically a continent), Asia, Europe, and Africa. Still need to explore South America, Australia, and Antarctica. I have been traveling my whole life. I started out as an army brat never living any where more than three years. I attended 12 different schools in my life, 3 in one year. As a child I envied those children who had roots. They had what I wanted a house that didn’t change and family living near by to grow up with. But God was shaping my life in a different direction. Even after I married, the travel bug was still in me. I could not afford to travel and my husband had a single steady job so we didn’t need to travel. To satisfy this travel bu...
Dream of My Son

God has given me many dreams and the interpretations of these dreams. This one was special to me. I hope it will bless you. Dream: My Son August 23, 2005 I dreamed my son was sick and in the hospital. The doctors didn’t know what was wrong with him so they wanted him to stay over night. I was looking for his room at the hospital. I knew his room was on the 2nd floor so I tried the elevator. When the doors of the elevator opened, there was no 2nd floor only empty space. I looked down and saw the first floor way below and looked up to see the third floor, but I could not find the 2nd floor. I tried several times to use the elevator going up and down but I was unable to find the 2nd floor. I was beginning to get frustrated, and anxious, I was afraid he would be scared or even die and I wanted to be with him, to comfort and hold him. I started looking for the stairs determined to climb the two floors and find my son. I searched frantically but could not find them. Sometimes in our lives we...
My First Blog - Health Insurance Problems

Okay, here it is folks, my first blog. I want to be an author but have been hesitant to start a blog because I had never read one nor am I sure show they work.
Today I am taking the plunge! I have no idea where this will lead but at least it's a beginning.
My first topic is health insurance. Why health insurance? Because yesterday I was suppose to have a major operation and even went so far as to arrive at the hospital and sit in the waiting room only to have the doctor cancel the operation because they had not yet gotten approval from the health insurance.
So it was either pay for it myself (maybe up to $40,000.00) or wait for the insurance approval. I just hope they don't think that this surgery is optional or otherwise unnecessary. In the mean time, I wait.
Have any of you had similar experinces? How did you handle it? Should I complain to the insurance sompany (which by the way is Tricare the military medical insurance)? What good would it real...
