Cancer Walk No. 2

So I had my first chemo treatment. Long day of various drugs draining through my system. No pain just boredom. That was Friday Dec. 21st and no bad side effects so far. Thank you Lord. I started adding things up recently. I have seen six different doctors over the past 3 months. Two I met for the first time and they performed major surgeries on me. I have 6 medications to take for the surgery and its after effects. I have 2 chemo drugs I am taking and 6 different meds I can take for side effects. I feel like a walking chemistry lab. I rejoice in the fact that I have had little side effects but I do tire easily which makes going to Walmart so difficult (where I'm headed after this post). I thank all my friends and family for their continued prayers was I walk this out day by day. Hab 3:19 "The Lord God is my strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army: He makes my feet like hinds feet and will make me to walk (not stand still in terror, but to walk) and ...

Cancer Walk: No. One

I don’t feel I am in a battle nor do I feel abandoned by God or that I’m being punished by God. I am resigned to the fact that I have cancer and it’s something I have to get through and I will rejoice when I am on the other side. There was no fear when they announced that the tumor they removed along with my ovaries was cancerous but there was no joy either. If I die, I will be with the Lord; if I live, I live for my family and for my ministry. I chose to live and through Christ’s strength I will defeat the cancer. In the mean time I have a whole new world of experiences to live through. First the surgery, then the implant of the portal (a small device under the skin to which they give the chemotherapy treatments), then this Friday I start the chemo treatments. Some experiences such as a Caribbean cruise you love so much and recommend everyone should try it once. None of the above experiences would I recommend to anyone, especially the portal which reminds me so much o...

Revival Will Come to Public Schools

I had a dream last night. I was observing a classroom in the slum of an inner city in America. In the class were kids, mostly African Americans about middle school age. Many were sitting on the floor, some in chairs and they were talking together and then they began to weep. At first I thought they were afraid or felt threaten some how but soon I realized they were praying and confessing their sins. Revival had come to the public schools through its children. I heard the Lord say to me, “Open your mouth and declare it out loud.” So in my half sleep, half awake status I declared out loud, “Revival will come to the public schools led by the children not the adults.” This morning I declare the same thing to the cyber world: Revival will come to the public schools led by the children. The teachers will stand in confusion and wonder as the children weep, and confess their sins to one another. As kids around the country begin to find Jesus as Savior, it will spread from kid to kid, t...

I want to go where you are

“I want to go where you are,” she said and I knew she meant she wanted to go home with me. My first thought was, “This is a result of the children calling me Jaaja (African for grandmother). They now think I am their grandmother and I’m here to take care of them.” I had spent the entire week at the ‘Children’s Healing Camp’ in Kampala, Uganda working with the Friend of TOUCH Ministry. I had a small group of children, 6 in all, and she was NOT one of them. In fact I never met her before and yet she had the courage to come up to me, a stranger, and ask me to take her home. I wondered how bad her life was that she was willing to place her hope and trust in a total stranger rather than her own family. Reluctantly I had to explain to her that I could not take her home (though I wanted to). She looked downcast as she turned to walk away. There’s always one more child to help; one more that needs Jaaja’s love. I keep reaching for them with my heart first and then what ever resources I ca...
